It has been a hard week, Mac is another dog I photographed this week who has been diagnosed with cancer.  Getting commissioned to photograph a dog who has cancer comes with mixed feelings.  I’m honoured to have been chosen by his family to capture his smile, but I also struggle with sadness knowing what could be for their family.  I would give up every shoot I have ever had in exchange for the dogs suffering from cancer to survive.  I am truly appreciative for being chosen to capture Mac with his long time best friend.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mac’s family at the Milton Mutt Strutt last year.  They adopted a dog named Xander from the Oakville & Milton Humane Society, who my partner and I walked and played with on many occasions during our volunteer time.  They are the sweetest and most loving family, and they gave Xander an amazing life and he was taken from them way to quick.  Xander lost a sudden battle to cancer a few months after they adopted him.  It has been tough year from them, but I truly believe they are strong folks with big hearts.  Whatever has been thrown at them, they handled it with strength and love.  I hope they always remember how much they gave their dogs.  You loved them a great deal and they returned that same love unconditionally, be proud of that and celebrate their lives.  Thank you again for choosing me to honour Mac!  I will always remember this day.   Oakville Dog Photographer

Please pray, send good vibes and comment below with kind words.  Let’s all help Mac beat this disease, cancer sucks!

Here is a sneak peek of Mac’s photo session, enjoy.

I had the pleasure of meeting Winston 2 years ago when he was a temporary resident of the Oakville & Milton Humane Society.  On my volunteer days, I had the task of walking, training and socializing this little guy!  I also made the mistake of sending a photo of him to my wife, I had to hear her beg and cry to bring him home for 2 months, yikes.  Everything happens for a reason.  I’m glad we didn’t bring him home, because he found the family he deserves.  He is doing so well!  Also, by my family not adopting another furkid, I can devote my time volunteering at the humane society and help more dogs who need homes.   The volunteers, staff members and trainers at the shelter work so hard with the dogs, but it can never compare to the 24 hours of love and companionship he gets from his family.  I was more then excited, as you can imagine, when Winston’s family called me for a photo shoot.  I was stoked to see him and very flattered they chose me to capture their family.  Thank you for the honour!  Georgetown Dog Photographer

Beautiful pictures, Sandro!! I love seeing Winston so happy with his family and they are so friendly when we see them at events. You’re right…he ended up in just the right home and will be the attention sponge he deserves to be, for the rest of his life.

Shylah! – Milton Dog Photographer

It never ceases to amaze me how close a bound human can have to animals!  I had such a pleasure photographing this wonderful Bouvier named Shylah with her human best friend!  The weather was perfect and the company was amazing.  Dogs are truly mans best friend, (gender neutral of course) 😉  Enjoy a preview of Shylah’s photos.

Awesome session with Ozzy, a shy and lovable cat!  Ozzy definitely played hard to get and challenged me at his photo session, but that’s the way we roll!  We have to go with the flow and never force it.  I’m glad with the shots I captured of this photogenic kitty, so adorable!  Enjoy a teaser of his photo session!
