burlington dog photographer | Ivy Rose!

burlington dog photographer | Introducing Ivy Rose, a 10 week old precious Sheltie!  I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet puppy, and I have the honour of photographing her for a few more sessions.  Ivy Rose booked Leash Out’s puppy package!   I can’t wait to see this young girl grow to be a beautiful lady.

I met Ivy Rose’s humans when I photographed their dog, Ms. Tilly.  Unfortunately, Tilly has passed and she is dearly missed.  Ivy Rose will never replace Tilly, but she will begin a new chapter full of memories and fun with her family.  Which by the way, are the sweetest couple ever.  If I were a dog, I would want them as my humans, he-he.  I had such a fun time photographing Ivy.  I know some people may be thinking, how do I keep a puppy still for a shoot?  Well, I have my tricks and I’m very experienced, but I have to mention, she is so well trained already.  Her family has put the time and effort in training, setting up Ivy for success for the remainder of her life.  Way to go guys!  It is always a pleasure photographing a puppy and I’m flattered for being granted this honour.  Check out Ivy Rose’s sneak peek below, and yes you can say, “awwww”!

Do you have a new puppy?  10 years photographing doggy models, the number one thing I hear from clients is, “I wish I took photos when my dog was a puppy, it goes by so fast”.  I don’t blame them for not taking photos, I have been there.  It is hard to remember to capture those moments when you are having a FUN time experiencing them.  Puppies are a handful and as soon as you know it, life zooms past you and they are all grown up.  I strongly recommend you consider having your puppy photographed.  Whether it is by me or someone else, like Nike’s motto says, Just do it!  Start with a very experienced dog photographer.  One who recognizes the dog’s needs, always keeping safety in mind and knows puppy behaviours.  Leash Out has an amazing Puppy Package.  It is 3 or 4 sessions of the puppy’s first year.  If you want to hear more, please feel free to contact me.  Check out Leash Out’s reviews,  click here!

Have a great weekend!

cambridge dog photographer | Sophie and her Pal!

cambridge dog photographer |  Never come between a girl and her dog, it is an loyal an unbreakable bound.  I have met many people in the past who wouldn’t even date someone if their dog didn’t like them.  Probably a good idea, he he. That was definitely one of my requirements in finding a partner. 🙂

I had the pleasure of photographing Sophie and her pal.  Sophie is absolutely adorable and she liked me, or my treats most likely.  I had such a fun time capturing the bound and friendship between Sophie and her pal on camera.  A bound between a dog and human sometimes cannot be explained unless you have lived it.  I can tell you, in my own experience, it has been easier to talk to a dog about my feelings, then most humans.  I know they will listen and they will not judge.  They somehow just understand you.  I’m almost positive, I’m not the only one that feels this way.  Call us dog lovers crazy, but I would take crazy over ‘normal’.

Sophie was very intriguing.  She was fun, yet cautious and those EYES!  It is like she is looking into your soul.  It was an honour meeting these two friends.  Check out a sneak peek of Sophie’s photo shoot, enjoy!

milton dog photographer | Atticus, the handsome Boxer!

milton dog photographer |  Who loves Boxers?  I do, I do, and I bet many of my readers do to.  I had the pleasure of photographing 7 year old Atticus last week, also known as Atti.  He is such a sweet heart and a typical goofy, fun and LOVING Boxer.  I can’t help it, but I want to take most dogs home after my shoots.

Atticus was adopted at 5 years old.  His previous family loved him dearly.  He was part of their family since the wee age of 7 weeks.  Then life has a funny way of throwing a curve ball at you.  An unforeseen situation arose that left them unsure if they can keep Atti.  The love they had for him only motivated them to do every thing possible to keep him, but it came a time where it was just not possible.  The unselfishness love, as hard as it was, they knew it was time to find him a new home, a decision they didn’t take lightly.  They searched and found Atticus’ new family and couldn’t have been more thrilled.  They knew it in their hearts they would love Atticus as much as they did.  It was extremely difficult to say good-bye, but all their efforts were worth it.  Every thing happens for a reason, and for Atticus, it worked out for the best.  He continues to be loved by an awesome couple who absolutely adores him.  He is well taken care of!  He has almost 2 acres to run and be a Boxer to the fullest.  They love him dearly and he is part of their family.  I’m glad it worked out for Atticus and I know he appreciates it, in his Boxer way.  Enjoy a sneak peek of Atticus’ photos.

milton dog photographer | Chase, or be chased! 😉

milton dog photographer |  Check out Chase the Vizsla’s photo session!  His name is perfect and best describes a Vizsla.  All the Vizsla lovers know the character and loyalty of these majestic dogs.  Let’s start here, they need 4 hours of exercise a day and that is probably not enough, ha-ha.  I swear they run on solar power!  They love to look out for birds, they gallop through the woods like they are on a mission, they are fast, they are never still, but even better, they are loyal.  They stick to you like Velcro.  They can spend hours cuddled up on you, and I mean ON YOU when you are relaxing on the couch.  My dog is part Vizsla, I can relate.  Chase was a blast to photograph and let me add, he is only 7 months.  You can imagine the energy level of a 7 month Vizsla.  It made for such a fun shoot.

The day I arrived home from the shoot, I posted a sneak peek on Facebook.  It was a shot of Chase jumping towards the camera.  Click here to see the photo I’m writing about.  I loved reading everyone’s comments.  There was a comment that popped up a few times.  “What timing?  What a lucky shot?  This must have been hard to capture?”  I have to say, there was no luck involved.  I have been perfecting this shot and capturing it for years.  It is a shot Leash Out is recognized for and I’m very proud of it.  All I need is an interactive dog to give me the shot and my with experience, I’m confident I will get the shot.  This particular photo I posted on Facebook was actually the first shot of that particular series.  The right timing is correct and important, but I create the timing I need.  Vizsla’s are a highly active dogs and there is no room for error.  Only one chance each leap.  I have to be ready, set up the dogs timing in my favour, know my settings and get the heck out of the way,  haha.  Years of practice, hard work, love and passion for what I do has helped me accomplish these type of shots, but more importantly, knowing dogs.  Oh, and staying in shape is a big plus to capturing this photo.

Check out Chase’s sneak peek, enjoy!  Have a great Family Day long weekend.
