toronto dog photographer | Lucille!
toronto dog photographer | My first day volunteering as a walker/trainer at the Oakville Milton Humane society, there were four dogs that I will never forget. I walked into the adoption floor and there was Mea straight ahead of me, then I made a left and I was greeted by Norm, Jimmy and Lucille! They made me feel right at home. I had the honour of getting to know Lucille and especially how much she LOVES food during our time together. A few months after meeting Lucille, a lovely couple walked in to the shelter with the intentions of adopting a long term residence. They originally came to see Jimmy, and instead they fell in love with Lucille. Like the saying goes, “the dog chooses you”. Lucille was adopted by this amazing couple and she became a city dog, living the Toronto high life. Traveling by subway, meeting new dogs, and best of all, eating fine dining. We know how much she loves that part! There is also more to Lucille everyone needs to know. She became a certified therapy dog and regularly visits a seniors home. They absolutely adore her. She has been a busy gal since leaving the shelter.
I had the pleasure of photographing Lucille, and secretly, I was hoping I would one day. For the folks who know me, I’m not a “sales” type guy. My saying to people who are thinking of having their dog photographed is, “you will know when you are ready.” I have stayed connected with her family, and one day I received a message from her poppa. He said, “I think it is time we photograph Lucille.” There it is, exactly what I hope for from anyone investing in me. It is right for them. It isn’t only a photo shoot, it is an experience and a gathering to create memories that will exemplify their bond forever on art. I was so HAPPY to have been chosen to photograph this sweetie. How can I not be! She is the epitome of how amazing a rescue dog and the impact they can have on a family dynamic for the better. Thank you so much for picking Leash Out. I will never forget this experience.
Lucille will be leaving the city in the near future for the country life. She will enjoy the remainder of her years running all about and owing it like she always does. Enjoy a sneak peek of Lucille’s photos.
