I couldn’t have been more thankful on Thanks Giving day!  I had the honour of photographing a 13 year old Malitpoo named Cara with her family.  The love shown by her family was so apparent from the moment I arrived.  Here is the awesome part, I photographed them on two properties the parents bought.  The homes on the property are 100 years old and one day they are going to be torn down to build a new home for them enjoy their retirement.  Their daughter contacted me for the photo session and had requested the location to be on this property as it is right now so that they can one day display the family photos  in the new home.  Wow, no pressure eh!  I enjoyed every single minute of the photo session and this family reminded me so much of mine, loving, caring and passionate about their furry family member.  Thank you so much for allowing me into your lives and being part of such an amazing photo session.

Enjoy a preview of Cara and her families photos!  LOVE CARA!  (oh by the way Cara is translated from Italian to Dear, so cute!)

Despite the start to the day by feeling a little off by having had a little too much of grandpa’s cough medicine at a wedding the day before, the day was amazing. 😉  Gorgeous weather and a great family to photograph.  Kasie was a top dog and she was super easy to work with and so were Paul and Katrina.  Capturing their family unity effortless and it was apparent they are  a super loving close family.  What a pleasure it was to hang out with them today and go for a nice stroll in the woods, oh yes and of course take photos of them, but that’s how I felt today, just hanging out with a few awesome people and a cool dog.

Enjoy the sneak peek of their photos and I had such a HARD time narrowing them down because there was plenty of amazing ones to pick from.  🙂

I know I have said this a million times, but work shouldn’t be this fun!  What I week I have had meeting the most adorable dogs with fantastic energy.  Today I had the pleasure of photographing two toy poodles named Jasper and Peaches!  They were absolutely adorable, they were balls of energy AND Peaches was only 12 weeks!  SOOOO CUTE!!!! 😀  Peaches even walked all over me when I was trying to photograph Jasper, literally, I’m in love!

When handling a new puppy, I have to be extra careful.  There first experiences to new things in the world can set them up to be a well socialized dog.  Peaches was hearing new noises such as strangers, other dogs and of course me and my camera.  Being experienced in handling dogs, I was patient and associated my lens and camera to Peaches as something fun by giving her affection and treats at the right time.  By the end of the photo shoot, she was all up on my camera, on my back and even on top of my head when I was laying down photographing Jasper.  I would love to say its all about just taking photos of a dog and its not.  Patience, experience and positive reinforcement is super key, hence why my clients enjoy working with me because of my reputation and experience.  Plus I just LOVE these guys!!!!

Enjoy a sneak peek of Jasper and Peaches! 🙂
