For the longest time, it has been my passion to photograph a hawk in nature, so on Super Bowl Sunday I decided to get in my truck and hit the road in the Milton area. There are so many trees and open fields for hawks to watch over their prey, sounds easy eh! Well, I never thought it was going to be that easy, but with in the first 15 minutes of driving I saw a hawk at a distance. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to capture him, he was extremely far and there were other trees in my way to be able to properly focus on him. I sat back in my truck and out of nowhere, he started to fly in my direction right past the front of my truck. I had literally seconds to hang out the window with my camera and capture him in flight, something I wasn’t even planning. He then lands on really tall tree right next to me and stayed there for about 10 seconds, long enough for me to capture a few more shots! I was so happy, like a kid in a candy shop! I wished it, but did I think it would actually happen, I had my doubts and staying positive brought in nice karma. If I didn’t find any hawks at the least I was able to go for a nice drive with Zaira.
After capturing a photo of the majestic hawk, I thought maybe it would be my lucky day and I can find a fox, deer, or another animal. I didn’t find any of them, but I found a few beautiful horses chillin out in the snow enjoying the afternoon sun.
Here are the photos I captured of the hawk and horses! 🙂
