FAQ

1.  What if I can’t have my dog off leash?

That is not a problem at all and actually I prefer them on a leash so I can bond with your dog and get as much close up shots as possible.  I remove all the leashes out of the pictures you select using technology.  Your dogs safety is first and most important. 🙂

2.  Can you take pictures of my dog and I together?

I can, but my ultimate goal is to get the best pictures of your pet, but I can’t profess that I’m an expert on humans.  My best work would be to always concentrate on your pet and if I see an amazing opportunity to catch you both in a candid loving moment, I’m all hands on deck.

3.  Can we do the shoot indoors?

Yes, but most of my cat shoots are indoors, as for a dog I get the most natural characteristics and instincts out in nature.  This is where my work begins to be art versus pictures.

4.  Is the creative fee just for the pictures of my dog/cat?

Yes, the session fee pays for the time and talent of the the photographer.  After every shoot I spend about 3 – 5 hours editing the best shots so to present you with.  Most photographers charge you for time worked if you want edits done after the fact, I don’t because I want to ensure you ‘wow’ed’ by the pictures of your amazing pet the very first time you see them.  The total average time I spend per client by the time they receive their products is 8 to 10 hours.

5.  The creative session you have on your ‘RATES’ page, is this the only type of session you have?

No, I have other types of sessions, but the one advertised is the most popular session.  I also have a ‘Puppy Session’, ‘O’ Canada’ session and ‘It’s Just me and You’ session.  Please contact me to go through what these types of sessions consist of.

6.  Do  you have promotions?

I do have promotions from time to time.  Please keep an eye open on my blog, Twitter or Facebook Fan Page for promotions.  Jump on them when you see them as the sessions book fast.

7.  Do you have a referral program?

Yes, for every client you refer to Leash Out after you have booked your pet’s session, you get a complimentary 8 x 10 photo from your private online gallery.

8.  What methods of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, cheque, VISA or MasterCard.

9.  What products do you carry?

I carry an array of products.  The most popular products are the canvases, di-bond & photo albums.  If you are looking for a particular product, please ask and I will make sure I put all of my efforts in getting it.  All of our products are high quality.  They all have a long archival life span.  Your pictures are not just a memoir, but they are also a family heir loom to be passed on from generation to generation.

10.  My dog does not sit still, is rambunctious or is shy and scared.

I’m confident that I have dealt with many situations and  I’m very knowledgeable in dog behaviours.  Most shoots I handle your dog so I can spend time building their trust.  Plus, this is what I want, I want your dog to be natural so I can capture their facial expressions.   At the end of the shoot I can vouch that I will be great friends with your pet.  Most of the time I’m sad to say good bye because I have invested feelings for your little furry critter. 🙂

11.  Do I get to pick the location?

Yes.  I will always have suggestions that will make for the best pictures depending on the breed, size, colour, etc, of your dog.  I am always interested in trying new innovative and adventurous locations.  Cats are done indoors or outdoors around the comfort of their home.

12. Do you shoot other animals?

Yes, I also shoot birds, reptiles and horses.  For quotes please contact me.

13.  My dog is older or ill, what should I do?

I only book a few sessions a month, but if you have a dog/cat that is ill I will make this my top priority.  I have been there, I lost my dog’s Loco and Bailey in a span of 5 1/2 months and everyday I wish I had more pictures of them.  I miss them everyday.  I will make sure we get a shoot booked right away and I will do my best to represent your loved one.

14.  How do I see your products before booking?

At your request, I can connect with you for a quick meeting in person to show you some of my work.

When the shoot is completed, 7 – 10 days later you will get a login for a private online gallery to view your photos.   You can share this gallery with family and friends to get others opinions, but ultimately you know your dog or cat the best when it comes to picking the pictures you want.  When you decide on the pictures you can start looking at products etc.  Before any products are ordered, I will ensure I get your final approval on the pictures you selected before ordering them.  All products ordered are paid upfront.

I love to work in a fun and natural environment.  I love to let your pets do there thing and just let them be them.  I will capture lots of natural candid shots during the session.  I’m not just shooting the whole hour, I’m also spending time in building your dog’s trust, so don’t be surprised to see me run with them, do tricks or just have them kiss me like crazy. 🙂  I also love to work in an open environment, great communication, transparency and cooperation.

My pillars of strength are integrity, ethics, honesty and accountability.  This keeps me going everyday and I will never compromise these beliefs.
